The Planning Process For Additions
To Your Property
Initial phone contact: Discuss the project. Go over some generalized
details, schedule expectations, budget and any special requirements you may
have.
Initial meeting: Meet with both parties for approximately 1 hour. Study
physical layout and observe possible obstacles. Go over in a little more
detail the goals you have in mind for the additional space. This is also
a time to see if we’re a good fit to work together. If applicable,
a quote for the design fee is given at this time. The design fee is based
on the size and complexity of the job. Fees usually range from $1,500.00
to $3,000.00.
Preliminary design initial meeting: You will have been mailed a design
agreement and will have returned it along with the fee prior to this meeting.
We will visit the home again and meet with both parties. (we also encourage
that anyone else that you will be seeking an opinion from, i.e. parents,
children, friends that have recently remodeled, be present as well.) It’s
much easier for us to incorporate their ideas or answer their questions
face to face.
While at that meeting we will take measurements and photograph the areas
of the home that will be affected by the remodel.
During the preliminary design phase: We will meet on site with trade contractors
if necessary. We will fax or e-mail the drawings to get your input as the
design comes together.
Once a design has been finalized we will provide you with an estimated
cost. This estimate will typically have allowances for certain items.
